Home & Land Loan Officer

Horizon Farm Credit is seeking a Home & Land Loan Officer to join their Home & Land Lending team. The role involves delivering credit and financial solutions while developing new business and strengthening referral relationships within the territory, primarily serving the York and Cumberland County area.

Responsibilities

• Develop and close Home and Land loans within delegated authority, ensuring complete and accurate loan files while meeting volume and quality expectations
• Originate new Home and Land loans and grow existing relationships with rural residents and part‑time farmers
• Build strong internal and external relationships and deliver exceptional, timely customer service
• Interview applicants, analyze complete and accurate financial information using the five credit factors, determine credit risk, communicate credit decisions, and inspect or appraise collateral as needed

Skills

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics, Finance, or a related field
• Generally, one to five years of related lending, sales, or financial services experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage challenging customer situations
• Ability to develop and maintain referral networks and practice effective territory management
• Basic knowledge of lending principles and related financial products and services
• Proven sales and relationship‑building skills
• Ability to manage customer relationships and loan portfolios with moderate supervision
• Willingness to spend time meeting with customers, prospects, and referral partners
• Adaptable and flexible to a changing work environment
• Ability to travel to/from other branch offices, customer meetings, etc., as required
• Regular, predictable, and reliable attendance is required
