Billing Review Specialist

The Billing Review Specialist is a key element in reconciliation between funding resources, ensuring all critical claim data is captured initially to collect payment for services rendered, and monitoring ongoing payment processes for individuals served.

What you will do:

  • Generates authorization, failed revenue, and eligibility reports on a day-to-day basis to proactively manage the front-end revenue cycle.
  • Implements, monitors, and maintains prior authorization and ensures authorizations are obtained in accordance with the insurance timely filing deadlines and entered correctly into EHR system.
  • Works with program staff to obtain authorization for additional visits as needed to eliminate or minimize non-covered services.
  • Enters all changes to client data, including demographic and insurance information, into Carelogic with a high degree of accuracy, correcting any errors.
  • Collaborates with appropriate program or department staff to resolve problematic trends, errors generated within the EHR, or to communicate on clinical data required to obtain approved authorization.

Who you are: 

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of related experience required.
  • Ability to schedule, meet, and maintain daily and monthly routines, as well as preserve the integrity of the EHR.
  • Familiarity with mental health and substance abuse billing guidelines.
  • Good analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of credit/debit payment posting procedures.
  • This is a remote position.  Seeking candidates who reside in New England as occasional travel to Massachusetts may be required.

PAY: $24.00 per hour - $26.00 per hour based upon experience.
