Job Summary This role is for an Application Solution Azure Architect, 100% remote, W2 Contractor with an unspecified contract duration. Requires 8+ years in application development, Azure expertise, and preferred Azure certifications. Key Responsibilities • Architecture & Solution Design expertise: design high‑level and low‑level architecture for cloud‑native and hybrid enterprise applications. • Develop scalable systems using Azure PaaS services, microservices, APIs, and serverless components. • Define architecture standards, integration patterns, and technology roadmaps. • Provide technical leadership in modernizing monolithic systems to microservices and event‑driven architectures. • Hands‑on experience with Azure services: • Compute: Azure App Service, AKS, Azure Functions • Integration: API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Logic Apps • Storage & Data: Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Blob Storage, Data Lake • Security: Azure AD, Managed Identities, Key Vault, RBAC • Dev Ops: Azure Dev Ops pipelines, Git Hub Actions • Networking: VNets, Private Endpoints, Application Gateway, Firewall • Technical governance: review solution designs, code quality, and architectural compliance. • Set non‑functional requirements (security, scalability, performance, reliability, observability) and conduct architecture reviews. • Produce solution design documentation. • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, development managers, and Dev Ops teams; guide developers and junior architects. • Assist in RFP responses, technical estimations, and client proposal presentations. Required Skills & Experience • 8+ years of experience in application development and architecture. • Strong understanding of Azure cloud‑native patterns and enterprise integration patterns. • Proficiency in .NET Core, Java, or Node.js for backend and RESTful API design. • Hands‑on with microservices, containers (Docker), Kubernetes (AKS). • Experience with cloud CI/CD pipelines, IaC (ARM, Bicep, Terraform), and release automation. • Strong understanding of security best practices, networking, and identity management in Azure. • Excellent communication and client interaction abilities. • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills. • Ability to mentor and influence cross‑functional teams. • Comfortable working in agile, fast‑paced environments. Preferred / Good to Have • Azure certifications such as AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert), AZ-204 (Azure Developer Associate), AZ-400 (Dev Ops Engineer Expert).
