Remote Medical Benefit Verification Specialist - Join Our Team!

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Medical Benefit Verification Specialist to join our team at Community Health Systems. As a vital member of our Shared Services Center, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission to provide safe, quality healthcare and build enduring relationships with our patients and communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide professional, accurate, and timely insurance verification and notification for outpatient diagnostic services, observation, and inpatient services
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and preauthorization/precertification/referral guidelines following the 16 components of verification
• Ensure thorough documentation of account activity in our computer system and maintain accurate records
• Communicate and educate patients and physician practices to ensure compliance with identified payor requirements
• Validate referrals, pre-certification, and authorizations for scheduled services and resolve any issues that may arise
• Calculate patient estimated portions and notify patients of their responsibilities prior to scheduled appointments

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of hospital/physician business office experience, including knowledge of collections, EOB processing, and billing
• Preferred 2 years of experience in a medical facility, ambulatory surgery facility, or acute-care hospital working with insurance verification
