Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Aircraft Maintenance Team Lead to join our dynamic team at American Airlines. As a key member of our Base Maintenance Group within the Integrated Operations Division, you will oversee a team of Team Leads and mechanics, driving excellence in our high-speed maintenance organization. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance professionals to achieve operational excellence and drive continuous improvement
  • Manage daily production requirements, ensuring maximum efficiency, consistency, and safety
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, stakeholders, and external partners
  • Drive staff development and training, ensuring colleagues' skills are utilized to their full potential
  • Conduct regular meetings and reviews to ensure optimal communication, identification, and resolution of issues
  • Monitor and coordinate maintenance labor requirements, overtime, and consistency with program scheduling and priorities

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of service experience directing production activity in a space related to shop maintenance
  • Experience leading or directing workgroups
  • A&P License
  • Strong interpersonal and computer skills
  • Ability to manage multiple areas of responsibility simultaneously
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Turbine engine-related experience
  • Understanding of airline/technical operations
  • Knowledge of inspection requirements
  • Knowledge of work reporting and team implementation
