Campus Store Sales and Customer Service- Student Worker
About the position
Responsibilities
• Greets customers immediately upon entering the store
• Operates cash/credit transactions accurately and in a timely manner
• Balances cash drawers, including opening and closing of daily drawers
• Receives, sorts, and opens new merchandise as directed
• Carries up to 50 lb boxes of merchandise as needed
• Straightens merchandise including vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning shelves and displays
• Assists in setting up displays and signs
• Fills in for employees during absences, breaks, and high volume periods
• Picks, processes, and packs orders for shipping
• Works at remote locations during events such as sporting events and graduations
• Takes inventory as needed and may be responsible for ordering general merchandise items
• Proficient with computers and POS systems
Requirements
• Strong customer service skills including effective communication
• Ability to stand for long periods
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload
• Proficient with computers and POS systems
• Safe money handling procedures and secure transaction practices
• Organization skills necessary
