This entry-level, remote position is perfect for those looking to start a career in media and localization. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training to help you master the art of creating accurate and culturally resonant subtitles for a diverse range of content, from blockbuster films to captivating series. You will play a crucial role in making our content accessible and enjoyable for viewers worldwide, ensuring linguistic precision and perfect synchronization. This is a 100% remote position, offering you the flexibility to work from anywhere. Key Responsibilities • Transcribe audio content accurately into text. • Translate dialogue into target languages while maintaining context, tone, and cultural nuances (if multilingual). • Create precise time codes (spotting) for subtitles to synchronize perfectly with on-screen dialogue and events. • Segment subtitles appropriately to ensure readability and flow. • Adhere strictly to Netflix's style guides, technical specifications, and quality standards. • Review and proofread subtitles for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and factual inaccuracies. • Manage workload effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Utilize specialized subtitling software efficiently after training. Required Skills • Excellent proficiency in English (native or near-native level). • Exceptional attention to detail and strong proofreading abilities. • Strong understanding of grammar, punctuation, and linguistic nuances. • Ability to learn and adapt to new software and tools quickly. • Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home workspace. • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a remote setting. • High level of personal integrity and ability to handle confidential content. Preferred Qualifications • Proficiency in a second language (e.g., French, Spanish, German, Mandarin, etc.). • Familiarity with various cultural contexts and sensitivities. • Previous experience with transcription, translation, or content creation is a plus, but not required. • Basic technical aptitude for troubleshooting minor software issues.
