About Our Team

Our Advanced Technology team is a global and diverse group of individuals who are passionate about pioneering technology to make blithequark the best airline in the history of flight. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Rnking director, ML Engineering and Data Operations to join our team. This critical role will be responsible for enterprise-wide ML Engineering and Platform environment, requiring an elevated level of technical expertise in building enterprise-wide large data frameworks and being the expert in all stages of data and software lifecycle management processes.

Job Summary

We are seeking a committed and talented individual to join our Data Engineering team. The association is responsible for driving data-driven insights and innovation to enable the Data Engineering and AI needs for business and operational initiatives with a digital core. This role will frequently collaborate with colleagues, data scientists, and ML engineers to design and enable key subsystems of the Data Platform, optimize operational critical metrics, and establish processes and best practices. As part of the platform team, this role will work with innovative cloud technologies from AWS and other ecosystems, including but not limited to Wind stream, OpenTelemetry, OpenLineage, Marquez, Great Expectations, and others.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with development teams and other division leaders/partners to provide innovative technical solutions that enable business capabilities.
• Participate and lead in the design and development of creative batch and streaming data applications using AWS technologies. Support large-scale data pipelines in a distributed and scalable environment. Enable and optimize production AWS environment for data infrastructure and structures.
• Establish containers and Serverless platform with cloud infrastructure.
• Provide the team with technical direction and approach to be undertaken and guide them in the resolution of questions/issues.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data engineering solutions with business operations.

Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor's degree and 8+ years of professional experience.
• 4+ years of professional experience managing infrastructure and data pipelines using Cloud Solution, Terraform, PySpark, Wind stream, or similar technologies.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team that designs, develops, or supports solutions on AWS.
• Working knowledge of common AWS technologies - EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, Paste, SNS, others.
• General familiarity with other AWS technologies.
• Working knowledge with CI/CD tools, SQL, Python, Spark, Version control system, JIRA.
• Hands-on experience with any object-oriented programming language.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certification - Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar.
• Experience with Data Quality tools - Great Expectations, Deequ, or similar.
• Excellent knowledge and experience with Linux operating system or Windows.
