Job Overview

As a Remote Medical Customer Service Representative at blithequark, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional phone support to hospitals and patients regarding billing inquiries and other healthcare-related matters. Your primary goal will be to resolve issues efficiently, clarify patient questions, and ensure that all callers receive the information they need in a timely and professional manner. This is a remote position, and you will be required to work from home in a quiet setting with a reliable internet connection and necessary equipment to perform your duties effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional phone support: Handles calls from hospitals about billing inquiries in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that all issues are resolved to the caller's satisfaction.
  • Assists patients effectively: Clarifies patient questions, addresses concerns, and ensures that patients receive the information they need to make informed decisions about their healthcare.
  • Problem-solving champion: Works through issues by pinpointing the root cause, researching solutions, implementing the best option, and escalating unresolved matters when necessary to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Data entry specialist: Maintains accurate patient records by inputting information into the hospital's computer system, ensuring that all data is up-to-date and easily accessible.
  • Connects callers seamlessly: Routes incoming calls to the most suitable person within the company, ensuring that callers are directed to the right person to address their concerns.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Epic Software experience is highly preferred, as you will be working with this system to manage patient records and billing information.
  • Bi-lingual skills are a plus, as you will be interacting with patients and healthcare professionals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Must have worked in a call center and have experience in Medical Claims and/or Insurance, with a strong understanding of healthcare terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to undergo a criminal background check, provide proof of high school diploma or equivalent, and complete a drug screen testing (including testing for THC).
  • Must have high-speed internet with a minimum of 50 Mbps download/20 Mbps upload speed and be able to hardwire via Ethernet cable.
  • Ability to work from home in a quiet setting with no others within earshot, due to HIPAA compliance, and have a dedicated workspace to accommodate two monitors and a computer.
