Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of mathematical and statistical models to create long-term forecasting algorithms that solve retail problems
  • Automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency using machine learning and statistical models
  • Collect, organize, analyze, interpret, and summarize large datasets to generate key insights and inform business decisions
  • Perform data exploration tasks, extract insights, and create storyboards from data analysis
  • Present clear and accurate root-cause analysis to stakeholders and leadership
  • Build training workflows for machine learning algorithms on large datasets and create algorithmic solutions using data science techniques
  • Lead and develop large-scale implementations of machine learning models and algorithmic solutions using rich retail data sources
  • Review model performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Collaborate with global AI teams, scientists, engineers, and business partners to identify new opportunities and lead data science projects

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong educational background in a quantitative field, such as mathematics or statistics, and significant experience in data science or machine learning. You should have a proven track record of developing and implementing analytical and data science modeling solutions, as well as experience working with large datasets and solving complex business problems.

Essential Qualifications

  • At least a Master's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field
  • At least 7 years of experience as a data or machine learning scientist, including experience with advanced machine learning activities (regression, clustering, and forecasting)
  • Experience with data mining, machine learning, or text mining, as well as mathematical concepts, algorithms, and computational complexity
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, SQL, R, SAS, and experience with data manipulation and risk analysis
  • At least 2 years of experience working with large datasets and solving complex business problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Ph.D. degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field
  • At least 4 years of experience as a data or machine learning scientist, including experience with advanced machine learning activities (regression, clustering, and forecasting)
  • Experience with Hive or Hadoop, machine learning, text mining, and Spark
  • Strong experience with data science techniques, including problem statement, feature engineering, model development, testing, and deployment to a production environment
