About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel to provide legal advice and support to our digital products and data analytics teams. The successful candidate will have a strong background in technology law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. As a Senior Counsel at blithequark, you will be responsible for providing legal guidance on a wide range of issues, including technology transactions, product development, intellectual property, marketing, security, and data protection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice and support to digital products and data analytics teams on technology transactions, product development, intellectual property, marketing, security, and data protection
  • Structure and negotiate business agreements, including master service agreements, vendor agreements, data licensing and integration agreements, and supply agreements
  • Collaborate with teams across blithequark's digital product and data analytics organizations and external partners to build, deliver, and operate technology for use by customers and patients
  • Work cross-functionally with business, product, marketing, insurance, security, and technology teams to launch digital product and service offerings
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of blithequark's digital product and service offerings, technology, security and data protection systems and policies, and standard business and other agreements
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies to provide informed legal advice and support

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and at least 5 years of post-bar attorney legal work experience in a combination of law firm and corporate settings
  • Required licensure to provide legal counsel in at least one state
  • Required Illinois bar registration or active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Experience using time management skills, such as prioritizing/organizing and following details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates
  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace
  • At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership, and/or cross-functional team leadership

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Ability to act in a fast-paced environment where prioritization and ability to work independently are a requirement for success
  • Experience working in a technology or healthcare industry
  • Knowledge of data protection and security regulations
  • Experience with contract management and negotiation
