Job Overview

The Senior Financial Accounting Analyst will be an integral part of blithequark's Controllership group, reporting directly to the Manager, Financial Accounting. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with other accounting leaders and chiefs, gaining valuable insights and experience. The primary focus of this role will be to support the company's reporting requirements, manage intercompany processes, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in the maintenance of general ledgers and the month-end close cycle connected with corporate accounting, including the preparation and review of journal entries for intercompany disposals, intercompany allocations, and related party transactions
  • Prepare and review reconciliations for key accounts on a monthly or quarterly basis and perform variance analyses
  • Monitor intercompany accounts, address any out-of-balance issues, and work with intercompany payments
  • Track related party transactions throughout the financial year and perform valuation analyses to determine whether related party transactions are at arm's length
  • Collaborate with the Tax, Legal, and other groups within Controllership to obtain necessary supporting documentation
  • Work directly with the Manager, Financial Accounting - Corporate on ad-hoc management initiatives
  • Aid in the preparation of blithequark's financial statements through the preparation of financial schedules and footnotes
  • Research technical accounting issues and prepare accounting memos to document changes in accounting treatment
  • Assist in managing internal and external audits by working with requests and preparing status meetings

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

  • 3 years of accounting experience
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high need to keep learning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • A combination of public and private work experience
  • Experience in SAP
  • Entertainment or technology industry experience
  • CPA license

Education Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required for this role.
