ABOUT THE ROLE We’re looking for a world-class Lead iOS Mobile Developerto own the architecture, velocity, and polish of our iOS app. You’ll lead development from the ground up—shipping fast, iterating daily, and building products that feel magical. This is not a “maintenance” role. This is a “build what doesn’t exist yet” role. You’ll work closely with the founder, design, backend, and AI teams to ship features that combine AI + video + commerce at a speed that feels unfair to competitors. You’ll guide technical decisions, elevate code quality, and ensure the app remains lightning-fast, stable, beautiful, and scalable. WHAT YOU’LL DO • Lead iOS development across architecture, frameworks, performance, and UI polish. • Own the codebase: structure, patterns, modularization, CI/CD, testing, and release management. • Build and iterate on complex features including: • AI-powered video workflows (recording, compression, uploads) • Real-time search/browse interfaces • Marketplace flows (checkout, Apple Pay, offers, chat) • Location-based experiences • Live streaming • Push notifications & in-app messaging • Integrate with backend REST APIs, have experience with WebSockets and SSE • Stripe/Apple Pay, AppsFlyer, Analytics (Mixpanel, GA), and user auth • Manage app performance, crash-freeness, battery usage, memory, and smooth 60fps interactions. • Collaborate tightly with design to ship pixel-perfect UI and native-feeling interactions. • Mentor future iOS hires, code review, and raise the bar for engineering standards. What You Bring • 5+ years of experience building and shipping Swift iOS apps end-to-end. • Expertise in SwiftUI, UIKit, AI, ML, Camera, Combine, async/await, concurrency, and modern Apple frameworks. • Strong experience with video, camera frameworks, image processing, or real-time uploads. • Experience integrating payment flows like Apple Pay / Stripe. • Strong sense of UX, animations, and building interfaces that “feel alive.” • Deep knowledge of App Store guidelines, TestFlight workflow, provisioning, and release cycles. • Ability to write clean, maintainable, scalable code with strong architecture patterns (MVVM, etc). • Experience with CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Fastlane, or automated build pipelines. • Comfortable working in a high-speed, high-ambiguity startup environment. Bonus Points • Experience with AI / ML workflows, Whisper, Vision APIs, or Generative AI integrations. • Experience building marketplaces, social apps, or short-form video apps. • Background leading a small team or mentoring rising developers. • Exposure to geospatial/location APIs (MapKit, CoreLocation, routing, etc). • Experience with app performance profiling and debugging memory leaks.
