Assistant Designer Dresses + Wovens – Calvin Klein
PVH Corp. is the parent company of Calvin Klein, known for its iconic fashion brands. The Assistant Designer for Women’s Dresses + Wovens will be responsible for the design and development of collections, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and alignment with market trends.
Responsibilities
- Executes the direction of Calvin Klein from concept through to final products
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product development and merchandisers to ensure seamless execution of design concepts
- Stay up to date with the latest market trends and customer preferences. Conducts research with full-look concepts in mind
- Develops and reviews proposals of fabric and embellishments
- Develops and reviews sketches, prototypes, and looks
- Establishes garment fit and oversees fittings. Provides fit comments and design comments to factories
- Attends fittings, fit sample collection, and reviews prototypes
- Oversees aesthetic development of graphic, trim, and textile design
- Assures that design works collaboratively with merchandising to build a cohesive and directional collection
Skills
- 1+ years design experience
- Proven experience as a Designer role within Womenswear or a relevant category in the fashion industry
- Strong portfolio showcasing your creative and technical design skills in Womenswear
- Strong sketching skills
- Proficiency in design software and tools like Adobe Creative Suite
- In-depth knowledge of dress trends, fabrications, construction techniques, and patternmaking
- Detail-oriented with a strong eye for aesthetics and quality
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate design concepts effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and meet project deadlines
- Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design
