Associate, Origination & Development Operations (Hybrid)
Longroad Energy is a renewable energy developer based in Boston, MA, focused on wind and solar energy projects across North America. The Associate will support the Development Operations & Origination team by managing project pipelines, leading RFP responses, and coordinating with offtakers to secure project contracts.
Responsibilities
- Support the origination of long-term structured renewable energy transactions
- Lead the preparation of written proposals in response to Requests for Proposal (RFP) for renewable energy Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
- Develop customer and marketing plans for various segments (e.g. corporate offtakers, utilities, datacenters, etc.)
- Manage and maintain databases to track RFP and proposal status, submitted project pricing, project compliance with PPAs, and other related activities
- Support the Company’s strategic plan through management, tracking, and reporting of Longroad’s development activities, including the renewable energy project pipeline, project status and schedules
- Perform market research to identify market opportunities and risks and maintain up to date market information for the broader development team
- Prepare analyses and presentation materials for management, Investment Committee, and Longroad’s Board of Directors
- Assist in the development and execution of wind, solar, and energy storage development plans
- Create and maintain marketing materials for presentation to customers, partners, and other stakeholders
- Participate in industry conferences, meetings, and site visits
- Support M&A activities (e.g. opportunity screening, due diligence, internal approvals)
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferred fields include economics, business, environmental studies/sciences, or engineering
- One year of professional work experience, preferably in the energy industry, corporate development, management consulting, banking, or other relevant position
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization in a positive, collaborative manner
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience with proposal and presentation preparation
- Ability to uphold highest standards of discretion and confidentiality and exercise sound judgment on day-to-day decision-making
- Flexibility in work hours and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work in-person in the Boston Office at least three days per week
- Willingness to travel occasionally (approximately 10%)
- Two plus years of relevant work experience; renewable energy experience is preferred (but not required)
- Exceptional analytical and quantitative abilities, with a deep understanding of Microsoft Excel
- Database or CRM management experience
