[Remote] Digital Pathology - Data Scientist / Computational Scientist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Glint Lab is a mission driven histopathology CRO supporting biotech, pharma, and academic partners with high quality tissue based assays and quantitative image analysis. The role involves analyzing digital pathology images and datasets using computer vision and statistical methods to extract biologically meaningful insights and maintain high-quality AI models.
Responsibilities
- Perform quantitative analysis of digital pathology whole slide images (H&E, IHC, IF, mIF, and more); this will include leveraging software tools such as Visiopharm, Halo, QuPath, and ImageJ/Fiji to train and fine-tune ML/AI models
- Perform downstream statistical analysis and data visualization using Python and/or R
- Conduct QC and validation of image analysis algorithms and outputs
- Collaborate with scientists to translate biological questions into quantitative results
- Contribute to the development of workflow automation and new analysis pipelines
Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology, bioengineering, biomedical engineering, computational biology, bioinformatics, data science, or a related discipline
- Foundational understanding of cell biology and tissue-level organization
- Basic understanding of histology concepts, including tissue architecture and common staining approaches, or a demonstrated motivation to develop this knowledge
- Working knowledge of Python and/or R for data analysis and visualization
- Basic understanding of applied ML and computer vision techniques
- Experience with digital pathology, histology, or microscopy imaging data
- Familiarity with Visiopharm, Halo, ImageJ/Fiji, QuPath, or CellProfiler
- Exposure to machine learning / deep learning frameworks and advanced computer vision techniques
- Experience in a research lab, CRO, or applied biomedical setting
