Traveling Service Technician
RMS Roller-Grinder is an innovative manufacturing and service company dedicated to providing advanced equipment and exceptional customer service. They are seeking a Traveling Service Technician to perform on-site maintenance and repair, respond to equipment breakdowns, and build strong customer relationships while traveling to various locations.
Responsibilities
- On-Site Equipment Maintenance and Repair
- Travel to customer locations to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair RMS Roller-Grinder equipment
- Execute preventive maintenance routines to ensure optimal performance and longevity of machinery
- Collaborate with customers to understand their unique needs and provide tailored solutions
- Be the frontline responder to equipment breakdowns, ensuring minimal downtime for our valued customers
- Utilize your technical expertise to quickly identify and resolve issues, getting our customers back to peak production efficiency
- Conduct comprehensive training sessions for customers on the operation and maintenance of RMS Roller-Grinder equipment
- Share best practices, tips, and insights to enhance customers' understanding and maximize the efficiency of their machinery
- Foster strong relationships with clients by providing exceptional service and demonstrating a commitment to their success
- Act as a brand ambassador, representing RMS Roller-Grinder with professionalism and dedication
- Maintain detailed service records, documenting all interactions, solutions implemented, and recommendations for future improvements
- Provide regular updates to the service team and management, contributing to the continuous improvement of our products and services
Skills
- Field service experience (or is willing & excited to learn)
- Passion to travel consistently; working 3-4 consecutive days a week and staying out 2-3 nights a week
- Self-motivated and can see & anticipate what needs to be completed
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a knack for taking apart and properly reassembling equipment
- Diagnostic and problem-solving skills to determine the root cause of an issue and come up with solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally and effectively with customers
- Customer-focused mindset to assist customers in breakdown situations and getting them operational in a timely fashion
- Growth mindset that is willing to learn and help in other areas within the company
- Ownership mindset, ensuring they have the right parts, tools, & equipment for the job while keeping their truck and work sites organized
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to obtain DOT compliance within 90 days of employment
- Has or can obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Previous experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, and/or fabrication
