Civil Engineering Technician - Entry Level

SEH is an employee-owned engineering, architectural, planning, and environmental company. They are seeking a Civil Engineering Technician - Entry Level to support their Civil Engineering team by using AutoCAD Civil 3D for design and analysis of infrastructure projects and preparing construction plans.

Responsibilities

• Supporting members of our growing Civil Engineering team
• Use of AutoCAD Civil 3D for analysis and design of roadways, trails, sidewalks, water main, sanitary and storm sewer systems and site improvements
• Use of Microsoft Excel for development of project bid item tables, quantities and cost opinions
• Prepare construction plans, site plans, grading and drainage plans, for a wide range of public and private infrastructure systems
• Learning new design techniques and construction capabilities to bring clients the most innovative and creative solutions
• Keeping abreast of the latest design standards and procedures and committing to continuous improvement to exceed minimums to create a better product
• Being dedicated to working hard and achieving excellence in a team environment

Skills

• Currently pursuing a degree or a recent graduate in Civil Engineering Technology
• Ability to work full time if out of school or over 20 hours while in school
• Completed course work or hands on experience in MicroStation, AutoCAD, ESRI and/or GIS
• Ability to report into our Delafield, WI office 1-2 times per week
• Must have good communication skills and be able to work independently
• Strong interest in Land Development Projects
