Staff Accountant, Associate
LCG, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations with a focus on accounts payable, cash receipts, and fixed-price client billing. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely invoicing and collections, and supporting month-end close activities.
Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable (AP) Process vendor invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper coding and approvals
- Maintain vendor records and resolve invoice discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly payment runs
- Assist with AP accruals and month-end close activities
- Cash Receipts & Accounts Receivable Support Record and apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire) to the general ledger
- Reconcile cash receipts to bank activity and customer accounts
- Support collections efforts by researching and resolving payment variances
- Assist with AR aging reviews and customer account reconciliations
- Fixed-Price Billing Prepare and issue fixed-price client invoices in accordance with contract terms and billing schedules
- Coordinate with project managers to validate billing milestones and deliverables
- Ensure billing accuracy, completeness, and proper revenue recognition support
- Maintain billing documentation and support audit requests
- General Accounting & Reporting Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
- Perform balance sheet account reconciliations
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis
- Maintain accurate and organized accounting records
- Process Improvement & Support Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
- Support special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Familiarity with Deltek Costpoint
- Experience with accounts payable and cash application
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with fixed-price or project-based billing
