[Remote] Movies & TV News (Self-Publisher) – Weekend Availability
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. MovieWeb is a leading authority in entertainment news, providing engaging coverage of the industry. They are seeking a Weekend News Writer to monitor entertainment news and produce timely articles related to film and television.
Responsibilities
• Self-publish news articles on weekends across movie and television verticals
• Monitor trending TV/Movies news cycles, including casting announcements, trailers, release dates, renewals/cancellations and celebrity updates
• Ensure timely publication of relevant content aligned with SEO and engagement goals
• Coordinate with editors and fellow writers to maintain consistent weekend coverage
• Contribute to news ideation, sourcing and scheduling
• Follow editorial and formatting guidelines rigorously
Skills
• At least 1–2 years experience in digital journalism or online publishing
• Ability to independently write and publish clean, accurate news content on tight deadlines
• Solid understanding of entertainment media and current pop culture trends
• Familiarity with SEO and CMS tools
• Strong communication and time management skills
