Training Specialist
Chenega Professional Services is a company that values extraordinary people and exceptional performance. They are seeking a Training Specialist to develop and deliver training programs for users of complex software applications, particularly in laboratory and public health settings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and Deliver Training Programs: Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training experiences for users of complex software applications, particularly in laboratory and public health settings, ensuring users can effectively and routinely use the systems
- Create and Update Training Materials: Develop new training content and maintain existing materials to reflect system enhancements and updates. This includes user manuals, instructional guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other educational resources
- Facilitate Training Sessions: Conduct training sessions with laboratory users, both in-person and via teleconference platforms, to ensure they understand system functionalities and can apply them in their daily activities
- Evaluate and Interpret Training Metrics: Gather, interpret, and analyze training metrics through new and established evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of training sessions and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with Software Development Team: Work closely with the software development team to understand upcoming system changes and use this knowledge to develop content for release notes, system demonstrations, broadcasts, notifications, and training materials
- Conduct System Demonstrations: Master complex software applications to a sufficient level to design and conduct training demonstrations, showing users how to utilize system features effectively
- Support Communication Efforts: Write communications about system functionality and program offerings, supporting the development of the team’s overarching training and communications methodology to improve user awareness and comprehension of the system
- Coordinate Training Aids Development: Coordinate the development of training aids, such as videos, infographics, and other multimedia resources, to enhance the learning experience and increase user proficiency with the system
Skills
- 1+ years of experience producing training content, lab processes, or education materials
- Experience creating instructional guides for IT systems or standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Experience creating announcements regarding program offerings, system updates, or new functionality
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience hosting and presenting content on teleconference platforms
- Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to facilitate working groups and training sessions, interpret training evaluation data into meaningful insights, conduct presentations and provide demonstrations, work collaboratively, and adapt to changing priorities
- Ability to deliver work products that are publication-ready, without the need for additional copy-editing
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Experience with data visualization tools, including PowerBI
- Experience working with public health agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
- Experience developing training materials for public health emergency response
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods
- Possession of excellent data gathering and analysis skills
