Mechanical Engineer-Entry Level 1

As an entry-level Mechanical Engineer, you will work with a team on mechanical design and analysis projects for nuclear power plants, applying your academic knowledge to real-world engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- In this position you will work with a team of engineers on projects involving modifications to existing nuclear power generation plants and associated plant mechanical systems
- Under the mentorship of senior engineering staff you will participate in the design and preparation of design packages for nuclear power plants
- You will work with other engineering disciplines in the completion of client projects
- Read design drawings and technical specifications
- Prepare project deliverables including engineering calculations, specifications, and evaluations
- Learn how to use and apply industry codes and government regulations along with discipline-specific computer analysis codes
- Occasional travel to client and plant site locations for design reviews, construction coordination and field verification of designs as required
Skills
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or associated field from ABET accredited program
- 0-2 years of related practical work experience
- Academic and/or applied knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and heat transfer
- Familiarity of tools and principals involved in the production of technical plans, fabrication drawings, and models
- Experience with CAD Software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship now or in the future
