Jr. Data Engineer
Yum! Brands, part of the Habit Burger team, is seeking a Jr. Data Engineer to enhance technology that improves restaurant operations and guest experiences. The role involves developing and maintaining data systems that support various applications and integrations with third-party services.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain stored procedures, triggers, and other database objects
- Participate in report development and system integrations
- Conduct database testing and debugging
- Engage in code reviews and documentation of database architecture and processes
- Implement and maintain database security protocols
- Ensure data integrity, security, and quality
- Monitor and optimize database performance
- Manage multiple tasks including high-priority requests and ongoing projects
- Collaborate with developers, stakeholders, and end-users to gather requirements and deliver solutions
- Design, develop, and manage scalable and reliable data pipelines
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 1–3 years of experience in database design, development, and maintenance
- Proficiency in MSSQL (T-SQL, Stored Procedures) or equivalent
- Working knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server)
- Familiarity with data modeling, normalization, and database design principles
- Understanding of performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization
- Prior exposure to ETL processes and tools (experience with any ETL tool is a plus)
- Comfortable working in IDEs such as Visual Studio and Snowflake
- Experience with data visualization tools (DOMO preferred; Power BI and Tableau desirable)
- Knowledge of SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS
- Programming experience in Python
- Awareness of data privacy laws and compliance
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Eagerness to learn and a strong work ethic
