Appian Application Developer

Transamerica is a financial services company focused on helping people achieve financial freedom. They are seeking an early career Application Developer to build and maintain applications using Appian and other low-code platforms, working closely with senior developers and global teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develops specifications for new and existing systems to determine program steps and sequencing
• Designs, codes, tests, and documents components for applications or other technical solutions
• Coordinates with co-workers, clients, operations and technical support on systems projects
• Works independently and sets direction on small to medium size projects
• Involved in solving problems with systems and programs
• Interfaces and initiates discussions with clients to determine requirements, resolve problems and perform testing
• Supports other analysts by performing functions, such as coding, testing, job processing, documentation, and scheduling
• Plans specific activities within a complex IT project
• Demonstrates a limited knowledge of systems and the overall business
• May require some supervision and occasional review of work

Skills

• 2-year computer science or business degree or equivalent work experience
• Up to 2 years work experience
• Develop applications using Appian and related technologies
• Leverage API based integrations to bring data from external systems
• Hands-on experience with SQL, API integrations, and reporting tools
• Domain knowledge in Financial Services
• Appian certifications (Developer level or equivalent)
• Familiarity with JIRA and Agile delivery frameworks
• Experience with cloud environments and deployment processes
