<p>We’re hiring a [Staff Accountant – Level I] to join our Finance and Accounting team. This person will bring clarity to financial data and play a pivotal role in developing accounting infrastructure to support Happy Dad’s next phase of growth. You’ll work cross-functionally to inform key decisions across departments and build systems and processes that enable smarter, faster insights into our financial performance.</p> <p>This is an ideal opportunity for someone with 2+ years of experience in corporate accounting, audit, or a fast-paced, accounting role at a CPG/DTC e-commerce company—especially if you’re looking to get closer to brand execution in a high-growth, culturally-driven business. You’ll thrive in this role if you’re analytically sharp, commercially curious, and excited to work in an environment where no two days look the same.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong>:</p> <ul><li>Post monthly journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP accounting standards and company accounting policies.</li><li>Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including various schedules for prepaids, accruals, and other liabilities.</li><li>Conduct monthly tracking and auditing of P&L accounts to support budget accuracy and derive actionable insights.</li><li>Evaluate e-commerce transactions, reconciling orders (Shopify, TikTok, Amazon) with payment records to ensure transaction accuracy and derive channel and SKU-level insights.</li><li>Perform inventory reconciliations to maintain accurate stock levels and consistency with shipping records.</li><li>Manage purchase orders between Accounts Payable and Procurement to ensure timely processing and inform cash flow forecasting.</li><li>Prepare and analyze budget reports for different departments to support financial planning and decision-making.</li><li>Collaborate with Strategic Finance by providing key financial data for internal and external reporting.</li><li>Conduct root-cause analysis on key financial drivers, helping teams understand what’s working, what isn’t, and why.</li><li>Serve as a strategic thought partner—proactively identifying high-impact insights and asking the right questions to influence direction.</li><li>Apply structured thinking, hypothesis-driven problem-solving, and frequent communication to support data-informed decisions across teams.</li></ul> <p><strong>Requirements:</strong></p> <ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related analytical field.</li><li>CPA preferred, but not required.</li><li>2+ years of work experience in corporate accounting, audit, or financial operations at a CPG/DTC e-commerce company (alcohol experience is a plus but not required).</li><li>Highly proficient in Excel and comfortable with various enterprise systems, including QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, etc.</li><li>Excellent communication skills—able to distill complex data into clear, actionable takeaways.</li><li>Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments.</li><li>Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.</li><li>Comfortable navigating ambiguity and proactive in driving clarity.</li></ul> <p><strong>Key Partners and Team Structure</strong></p> <ul><li>You will report directly to the Accounting Manager.</li><li>You’ll work closely with the Production, Procurement, and E-commerce teams, acting as a key liaison between Accounting and cross-functional stakeholders.</li><li>You’ll collaborate frequently with the Strategic Finance and Executive teams, providing insights that shape financial decisions.</li><li>You’ll also interface with our external partners (e.g., suppliers, vendors, etc.) to ensure accuracy and efficiency in reporting and analysis.</li><li>This role sits at the intersection of accounting and execution—making you a critical partner for financial insights as Happy Dad scales across channels and geographies.</li></ul> <p><strong>Job Type: </strong>Full-time</p> <p><strong>Salary: </strong>$68,000 - $80,000<br></p> <p><strong>Benefits</strong>:</p> <ul><li>PTO</li><li>Health Insurance</li><li>Dental Insurance</li><li>Vision Insurance</li><li>401(k) Plans</li></ul>
