[Remote] Travel Clinical Research Assistant

The role involves performing venipuncture, managing biospecimens, and ensuring clear communication with participants and teams during health research activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent venipuncture and manage difficult draws per protocol
• Collect, label, process, package, and ship biospecimens while maintaining chain of custody
• Assist with the setup and teardown of event sites and preparation of outreach materials
• Communicate clearly with participants and on-site teams, escalating issues as necessary
• Record data accurately and enter it in real-time on paper or electronic documents

Skills

• 1+ year of recent hands-on phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting
• Minimum of 200 total venipunctures; 25-50 capillary sticks; 30-50 sticks in the last 2-3 months
• Working knowledge of federal regulations, Good Clinical Practices (GCP), and medical terminology
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Some clinical research experience preferred
• Demonstrated competency in specimen processing
• Current national phlebotomy certification (e.g., ASCP, AMT, NHA, NCCT)
• Friendly, outgoing personality with a positive attitude under pressure
• Comfortable using mobile apps/eSource and standard office tools
