Digital Design Support Technician

Parametrix is a 100% employee-owned consulting firm dedicated to delivering resilient infrastructure and sustainable solutions. They are seeking a Digital Design Support Technician to support civil engineering staff with Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley OpenRoads Designer, focusing on troubleshooting and user assistance.


Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day support for engineering and design staff using Autodesk and Bentley Design applications
  • Configure, and troubleshoot CAD software and related components, including user profiles, workspaces, templates, and add-ins
  • Assist with onboarding new team members, ensuring required CAD software and dependencies are installed and functioning properly
  • Troubleshoot common issues such as application errors, performance problems, file access issues, and basic project setup concerns, escalating complex design or modeling issues to senior CAD staff as needed
  • Collaborate with IT and CAD Services to deploy software updates, apply patches, and validate workstation configurations
  • Document common issues, resolutions, and setup steps to help improve internal support knowledge and reduce repeat issues
  • Communicate clearly with staff and project teams to set expectations, provide status updates, and confirm resolution of support requests

Skills

  • Experience supporting or working with technical software in a professional environment
  • A solid foundation in troubleshooting software and workstation issues, with the ability to follow problems through to resolution or escalate when appropriate
  • Comfort installing, configuring, and maintaining desktop applications in a Windows environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work patiently and effectively with engineers and technical staff
  • An organized, detail-oriented approach to documenting issues, solutions, and setup steps
  • Exposure to Autodesk, Bentley, or similar design tools is helpful but not required; training and support will be provided
  • An interest in learning CAD systems, engineering workflows, and industry-specific tools over time
