[Remote] Engineer-in-Training, Civil Technologist
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. They are seeking a Civil Technologist, Engineer-in-Training to assist in engineering projects related to mining operations, including design, site surveys, and project management support.
Responsibilities
- Develop conventional and computer-assisted design (CAD) engineering drafts and drawings from preliminary concepts and sketches
- Organize construction specifications, cost and material estimates, project schedules and reports
- Utilize CAD software to prepare engineering designs, drawings, and layouts for infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, and other civil works related to mining operations
- Conduct site surveys, gather field data, and assist in the preparation of detailed engineering drawings and maps
- Assist in the development and implementation of project plans, schedules, and budgets. Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site inspections and coordination with contractors
- Perform calculations and analyses to ensure the structural integrity and feasibility of proposed designs
- Participate in field surveys, inspections or technical investigations of topography, soils, drainage and water supply systems, road and highway systems, buildings and structures to provide data for engineering projects
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations to communicate project status, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders
Skills
- One (1) year experience as a Civil Engineering Technician or EIT, preferably in the mining or construction industry
- Degree in Civil engineering or certification in civil engineering technology or in a related field
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification through Nunavut Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientist or the ability to obtain
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D), GIS applications, and other engineering design tools
- Familiarity with surveying equipment and techniques
