La Costa Glen is a resort-style retirement community located in beautiful North San Diego County, only two and a half miles from the Pacific. The community is contained securely on 50 acres within a park-like preserve, surrounded by permanent open space. La Costa Glen is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) offering a variety of villas and apartment homes to over 900 residents. Full services are provided, including restaurant style dining, housekeeping and laundry, maintenance services, transportation, fitness classes, wellness programs, and numerous activities.

The five-star rated GlenBrook Health Center is located adjacent to the campus of La Costa Glen in Carlsbad,and offers 80 Skilled Nursing beds and 75 Assisted Living/Memory Care rooms with professional staffing 24 hours a day. Set in a beautiful location, surrounded by natural hills and lush landscaping, our skilled nursing creates a nurturing and caring environment. GlenBrook has achieved Medicare’s 5 star facility rating since its inception and annually receives outstanding state survey results across the board. Our skilled nursing has an outstanding nursing team, enjoying high staffing ratios resulting in very low nursing team turnover. Our assisted living offers personalized assisted living and secured dementia care. The community also provides full-service physical, occupational and speech therapy and rehabilitation departments, as well as other key services.

Pay: $39 - $40 per hour

Requirements

Current California Licensed Vocational Nurse License in good standing with the LVN Board of Nursing.
At least one year of experience with providing direct nursing care to the elderly and chronically ill patients preferably in an Assisted Living facility.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
Legally Authorized to work in the United States

Job Description

Assists the Director and oversees the direct care of the residents being provided by the Caregivers and Medication Aides.
Assists the Director with contacting resident’s attending physicians for changes of condition, new admission orders, discharge orders and all necessary changes in medication and treatment orders. Responsible for notifying resident family members/surrogate decision makers of changes in condition, changes in medication and treatment orders, obtaining informed consents, developing resident care plans, documents all physician, resident, family member/surrogate decision maker communication.
Responds quickly, calmly and professionally to medical emergencies.
Knowledgeably and skillfully performs Intravenous therapy with in the LVN scope of practice, tube feedings, oxygen administration and related procedures, catheterizations, suctioning and dressing changes. Accurately carries out medication administration and treatment procedures. Assists with direct resident care, such as bathing, grooming, transferring, repositioning as needed. Willing to accept additional responsibilities in emergency situations to ensure quality resident care is maintained.
Completes other duties as assigned by Director.
