Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data Science & Analytics team, focusing on Customer Service. As a Data Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, software engineers, and business owners, to design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, transform raw data into actionable insights, and create custom visualization tools to surface Customer Service metrics. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, strong technical judgment, and the ability to work across the data stack, from pipeline development to business metrics and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain reliable, scalable data pipelines using big data technologies such as Hive, Presto, Spark, and Flink on medium to large-scale data sets (10s of millions of records)
  • Transform raw data into core business metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making and process optimization
  • Collaborate with data engineers, software engineers, and business owners to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain custom visualization tools to surface Customer Service insights, facilitating data-driven decision-making
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security, adhering to arenaflex's data governance standards
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and insights to non-technical stakeholders, including business leaders and analysts

Essential Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of experience engineering data pipelines using big data technologies on medium to large-scale data sets
  • Strong data modeling skills, with the ability to design adaptable structures that accommodate changes in source data or business processes
  • Proficiency in Python or Scala, with a passion for writing clean, supportable code
  • Advanced SQL skills, with a strong focus on data quality and advocacy for best practices
  • Analytical aptitude, with the ability to think through complex business problems and prioritize autonomously
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams, including analysts, engineers, and business leaders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS or GCP
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance principles
  • Familiarity with agile development methodologies and version control systems, such as Git
  • Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Strong understanding of customer service operations and metrics

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

  • An annual salary range of $170,000 - $720,000, depending on experience and qualifications
