About the position The Protocol Software Engineer at Anritsu Company will develop and integrate protocol test scenarios and test platform products to ensure next generation 5G devices conform to industry and operator specifications. The role focuses on 5G NR and VoLTE/VoNR technologies and involves working as part of an international team to deliver and integrate leading-edge test products for 4G and 5G mobile devices. The engineer will coordinate Anritsu activities with operator subject matter experts and represent Anritsu's interests during operator and subject matter expert engagement. Responsibilities include developing and integrating 5G test products for mobile devices using Anritsu platforms and equipment, negotiating operator SME acceptance of Anritsu test products, debugging integration issues, and supporting organizations investigating customer-reported issues. Responsibilities • Develop and integrate protocol test scenarios and test platform products for 5G devices. • Focus on 5G NR and VoLTE/VoNR technologies. • Serve as part of an international team to deliver and integrate test products for 4G and 5G mobile devices. • Coordinate activities with operator subject matter experts. • Negotiate operator SME acceptance of Anritsu test products. • Debug integration issues and provide fixes. • Support organizations investigating customer-reported issues. • Clearly communicate status, roadblocks, accomplishments, and provide recommendations. • Demonstrate system capabilities and solicit customer feedback. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. • 5 years of progressive experience as Protocol Engineer, Systems Analyst, Software Engineer, or related occupation. • At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting radio protocol signaling issues using QXDM, ELT, Wireshark, and trace logs. • Experience with LTE and NR radio protocols, including RRC, PDCP, RLC, MAC, and physical layer features and operations. • Knowledge of key cellular features, including IMS, VoNR, EPSFB, voice/video/RTT/e911 calls, TCP/UDP data throughput, FR1/FR2, SA/NSA, carrier aggregation, and network slicing. • Experience analyzing 3GPP specifications to design, develop, and maintain comprehensive LTE and 5G NR Radio Protocols test cases. • Proficiency in developing complex test cases using C/C++ programming. • Experience validating the implementation of new test features and bug fixes. • Ability to create and maintain clear and concise test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test reports. • Experience configuring mobile test equipment, vendor simulators, and mobile devices.
