SEO Content Editor
The SEO Content Editor works closely with writers, SEO leadership, and the design team to prepare drafted content for publication. The role is production-focused and execution-driven, with an emphasis on clarity, structure, and accessibility.
On a day-to-day basis, this role may include:
-Editing drafted articles for clarity, flow, and readability
-Uploading and formatting content within WordPress
-Structuring headings (H1–H3) and content hierarchy for optimal user experience
-Improving mobile readability and visual scannability
-Adding internal links based on guidance and contextual opportunities
-Implementing FAQ schema and other relevant structured data
-Identifying opportunities for tables, charts, videos, and visual enhancements
-Providing direction to the design team for needed graphics
-Ensuring content is accessible and easy to navigate for older and disabled users
The role does not include writing long-form content, conducting keyword research, or performing SEO performance analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
-Edit and refine drafted content to improve readability, clarity, and logical flow.
-Structure content using proper heading hierarchy and formatting best practices.
-Publish and manage content within WordPress.
-Implement and validate FAQ schema, Article schema, and other relevant structured data.
-Optimize internal linking structure to improve navigation and contextual relevance.
-Enhance content formatting to increase eligibility for featured snippets and AI-driven search results.
-Improve mobile-first readability through effective spacing, formatting, and layout.
-Add and format tables, charts, FAQs, embedded videos, and other engagement elements.
-Identify opportunities for visual improvements and provide clear direction to the design team.
-Ensure accessibility best practices are followed, including descriptive alt text and logical content structure.
-Maintain consistency in formatting and structure across all published pages.
-Uphold quality standards that prioritize clarity for an older and disabled audience.
