Job Description Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will drive coordinated, high-quality engineering delivery across a portfolio of multi‑use travel center developments. • Lead the development and maintenance of engineering standards, basis of design, and quality assurance processes. • Manage third‑party engineering consultants to deliver coordinated, compliant design packages through 30/60/90/IFC milestones. • Produce early-stage conceptual site layouts (AutoCAD or similar) to evaluate access, feasibility, utilities, and site constraints. • Coordinate internal and external design reviews, ensuring alignment with permitting, entitlements, AHJs, and utility requirements. • Oversee constructability reviews, assessing cost, schedule, and efficiency for large, infrastructure-heavy sites. • Develop technical scopes and specifications for RFPs and procurement packages. • Support construction through review of RFIs, submittals, field decisions, and integration of as-built documentation. The Successful Applicant For the Senior Engineering & Design Manager, we are seeking: • 5+ years' experience in civil infrastructure, site development, transportation, or related engineering fields. • Strong proficiency in CAD-based tools for developing and reviewing early-stage site layouts. • Experience with permitting, entitlements, utility coordination, and infrastructure-heavy or power‑intensive sites. • Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary engineering (civil, electrical, structural, architectural). • Understanding of constructability, sequencing, and cost drivers. • Experience managing consultants, reviewing technical submittals, and upholding engineering standards. • Curious, detail-oriented mindset; thrives in a high-growth, fast-moving environment with an "owner mentality."
