[Remote] Director, Strategic Investments & Portfolio Strategy (US Based Remote)

The Portfolio Analysis Director will support enterprise-level decision making by evaluating proposals for product portfolio and long-term value creation initiatives, collaborating closely with various departments to inform strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
• Develop framework for opportunity and portfolio evaluation as part of annual 5-yr roadmap planning
• Synthesize data across Market Intelligence and Product Strategy, Operations, Project Management, Tech, R&D, Finance and Data analytics teams
• Evaluate strategic options across the molecular diagnostics portfolio, including product development, evidence generation, and infrastructure investments
• Support portfolio prioritization decisions by assessing tradeoffs across risk, return, timing, and strategic fit
• Update program and portfolio value for review at quarterly intervals and recommend project prioritization
• Build and own enterprise financial models (DCF, NPV, IRR, scenario analysis) to assess long-term value creation of initiatives
• Quantify the financial impact of potential R&D, operations, and product decisions
• Partner with Finance and FP&A to align long-range plans with strategic priorities
• Partner with Investor Relations to understand investor valuation perspectives of portfolio and financial decisions
• Develop concise, executive-ready presentations and materials for senior leadership and board discussions
• Translate financial information into clear recommendations
• Support annual strategic planning and long-range planning processes
Skills
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or STEM related field
• 4–7 years of experience in investment banking (healthcare group), or private equity
• Expert-level proficiency in complex financial modeling and 'clean-sheet' problem-solving
• Experience working with ambiguous, incomplete data to support decision making
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in molecular diagnostics, life sciences, biotech, or healthcare
• Familiarity with diagnostics product development lifecycles, regulatory pathways, and reimbursement considerations
• Experience in corporate strategy and planning and/or strategic portfolio planning
• MBA or CFA designation is highly preferred
• Experience supporting executive or board-level strategy discussions
