Cloud Operations Engineer Active Directory

Cloud Operations Engineer – Active Directory (Tier-0) Remote (West Coast US, Onshore Only) We’re seeking a Cloud Operations Engineer with deep, hands-on ownership of Active Directory to support business-critical (Tier-0) identity infrastructure. This role is Active Directory–first, with AWS and automation as supporting skills. What You’ll Do • Own and operate enterprise Active Directory environments (Tier-0 / P0-P1 critical) • Build, patch, validate, and decommission Domain Controllers (on-prem & cloud) • Provide 3rd-level support for AD and Windows Server during critical incidents • Troubleshoot using AD-native tools (ADUC, Event Viewer, repadmin, dcdiag, nltest) • Design and maintain AD-specific monitoring & alerting (auth failures, replication, SYSVOL/NETLOGON) • Automate AD tasks safely using Ansible & PowerShell (with pre/post checks & rollback) • Support hybrid cloud infrastructure and tooling in AWS Required (Non-Negotiable) • Hands-on ownership of Active Directory (not just integrations) • Strong experience with AWS, Active Directory, and Ansible • Deep Windows Server troubleshooting experience • Scripting with PowerShell, Python, or similar • Experience supporting production, enterprise-scale AD environments • Comfortable working in Agile teams Nice to Have • Large-scale AD environments (45k+ users, multi-forest) • GPOs, DNS, DHCP, PKI/SSL, Trusts, Sites & Services • Windows Server 2008–2019 internals • Exposure to AI/automation in infrastructure operations Not a DevOps-only role.
