Creative Editor & Script Writer for DTC Baby Wellness Brand - Contract to Hire
We're a growing DTC baby wellness brand looking for a creative editor who can write, think strategically, and move fast.
-
What you'd be doing:
Writing and iterating on ad scripts in our story-style format — text-on-screen over b-roll, no voiceover. You need to be able to write in the voice of a real, exhausted, 25-35 year old parent — not a copywriter pretending to be one. Every line needs to sound like something someone would actually text their friend at 2am.
-
Developing hook variations for testing. We test multiple openers against the same script body and need someone who can generate these quickly and with range.
Working with our creative strategy to make sure every script ties back to real audience language and real pain points. We do deep audience research and you'll be working from actual voice-of-customer data — not guessing.
Editing and tightening scripts for pacing and watch time. Knowing what to cut is just as important as knowing what to write.
-
Moving quickly. We need someone who can turn around script variations in hours, not days. This is a fast-moving brand and the content calendar doesn't wait.
You're a great fit if:
You're a native or fully fluent English speaker/writer — this is non-negotiable because our scripts rely entirely on how things sound when read on screen. Awkward phrasing kills the ad.
You understand the difference between copywriting and writing for story-style social content. We don't want headlines and bullet points. We want someone who can write a 60-second emotional narrative that doesn't feel like an ad until it's already too late.
-
You have experience writing for or marketing to younger demographics (25-35) and ideally have some familiarity with the parenting/baby/motherhood space. If you've ever been in a mom Facebook group or know what the "4 month sleep regression" is without googling it — that's a plus.
You understand performance creative — you know that the hook matters more than the body, that watch time is the metric, and that authenticity outperforms production value every time in DTC paid social.
-
I need someone who understands content and can work with me in creating a massive information push across many outlets of media.
-
I need someone who can edit across various styles and also understands how to write scripts should there need to be changes you know already what those changes should be and can do them without me having to always say this should be changed.
