CFO – Professional Services
Job Description:
• Serve as a member of clients' executive management teams
• Develop and implement strategic financial plans aligned with professional services business objectives
• Lead high-level financial decisions and strategic initiatives
• Provide financial coaching to client leadership teams
• Support internal delivery teams with technical expertise and industry-specific guidance
• Create sophisticated financial models to evaluate business decisions, including service expansion, technology investments, and office expansions
• Develop long-range cash forecasts and capital planning specifically addressing cyclical nature of professional services
• Analyze business performance and identify optimization opportunities for service delivery efficiency and client profitability
• Design and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) relevant to the needs of the client’s business operations
• Prepare annual operating plans with variance analysis
• Oversee and optimize engagement costing systems
• Implement effective resource allocation and utilization processes
• Design accounting structures that provide actionable insights
• Develop pricing models that ensure profitability while remaining competitive
• Lead month-end closing meetings with clients and internal teams to present financials
• Oversee preparation and review of monthly financial statements and key reports
• Serve as proactive liaison with client's professional advisors (CPAs, bankers, attorneys)
Requirements:
• 10+ years of financial leadership experience, with at least 5 years specifically in professional services industries
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• Proven success in executive-level financial advisory roles for professional services companies
• Demonstrated ability to drive strategic growth initiatives
• Have a love of entrepreneurial, growth-minded small businesses
• Experience managing multiple client relationships, preferred
• Strong mentoring and team development abilities
• Strong technical accounting and finance expertise, including, resource utilization, and technology investment planning
