Instructor, Medical Coding Specialist-Part-Time (Online)

• *What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):**
- Prepare and deliver instruction for classroom, online, and applied courses in the Medical Coding Specialist Technical Diploma Program
- Develop and revise curriculum to maintain course effectiveness and evaluate program success
- Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues
- Collaborate with advisory committees and participate in departmental activities
- Manage equipment, supplies, and materials for instructional purposes
• *What is Required (Qualifications):**
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Health Information Management, Health Care Informatics, or an Associate's Degree in Health Information Technology with five years of relevant experience
- Minimum of two years of full-time or equivalent experience as a Medical Coder
- Current certification in one of the following: CCS, CCS-P, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA
- At least one year of work experience within the last five years, or two years of teaching Medical Coding at the post-secondary level within the last five years
- Strong communication skills with the ability to relate to a diverse student population
• *How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):**
- Previous teaching experience in Medical Coding or related fields
- Experience developing curriculum in various instructional environments, including online
- Knowledge of assessment of student academic competency attainment
- Familiarity with instructional technologies and learning management systems
- Ability to engage in service learning and community partnerships
