Product Design Expert - Remote

Responsibilities • Lead design for Blocks, Nextdoor’s internal design system, used across all of our products and services • Partner closely with engineering and product to maintain a tight coupling between our Figma library and codebase • Work with the design team to strategically evolve and augment the system in response to the needs of the product • Advocate for a user-first approach, ensuring that the design system drives real value for neighbors • Deeply understand the metrics that we use, and make informed decisions that optimize for business outcomes without compromising user experience • Mentor and guide other designers, providing feedback, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team • Influence product and business decisions by effectively communicating UX rationale to stakeholders, including executives, through storytelling and data-driven insights • Drive experimentation and A/B testing efforts, collaborating with product and analytics teams to measure and optimize the effectiveness of UX improvements • Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in the user experience by following best practices and advocating for diverse user perspectives • Stay ahead of industry trends in advertising UX, AI-driven personalization, and visual design to inform innovation and future roadmap planning • Participate in in-person events such as trainings and team-building exercises • Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to company culture Requirements • 8+ years of experience in systems design, UX design, product design, or a related field, with a strong track record of designing and shipping user-centered products • Deep expertise in design systems, interaction design, and usability principles, with a portfolio demonstrating impactful work in complex systems • Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods, with the ability to synthesize insights into actionable design decisions • Deep expertise in Figma’s design system tooling • Familiarity with technical integrations and workflows that connect Figma to code • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and advocate for user needs to senior stakeholders • Experience conducting A/B tests and working with analytics tools to measure the impact of design decisions • Passion for staying ahead of industry trends, particularly in UX for social media • Eagerness to explore and apply AI and emerging technologies to reimagine how work gets done Benefits • Competitive salary range of $217,000 - $285,000, depending on experience and location • Potential for equity grants with quarterly vesting • Choice of a variety of health plans, including a 100% covered employee-only plan option • Membership for concierge care through OneMedical • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning • Inclusive work environment that values diversity • Flexibility in work location and hours • Engagement in community-building events and activities Apply tot his job Apply tot his job Apply To this Job
