Technical Interior Designer / Draftsperson (Chief Architect) House of Maevie | Raleigh, NC (Remote Possible) Part-time | 10–20 hours per week | 1099 Contract Pay: $40–$50 per hour (based on experience) House of Maevie is a residential interior design studio based in the Raleigh area specializing in thoughtfully designed homes with a traditional aesthetic. Our work focuses on helping clients navigate renovations and new builds with clarity, strong design direction, and careful attention to materials, craftsmanship, and architectural detail. We are seeking a technical interior designer or draftsperson with strong Chief Architect skills to support our growing studio on a part-time contract basis (10–20 hours per week). This role may evolve into a full-time employee position as the studio continues to grow. Candidates located in the Raleigh area are a plus, though remote candidates with strong experience will also be considered. Responsibilities • Produce construction drawings and documentation using Chief Architect • Develop space plans, cabinetry layouts, and millwork detailing • Prepare floor plans, cabinetry drawings, and interior elevations • Create client presentation renderings in Chief Architect • Assist with sourcing and specifying materials, finishes, plumbing fixtures, lighting, furniture, and décor (FF&E) • Maintain organized product specifications and design documentation • Collaborate with the principal designer while independently managing assigned design tasks and documentation Qualifications • 3–5+ years of residential interior design or drafting experience • Strong proficiency in Chief Architect (required) • Experience producing drawings using U.S. residential construction and cabinetry standards. • Strong knowledge of cabinetry design and millwork detailing • Understanding of residential construction and architectural detailing • Ability to work independently and move drawings forward efficiently • Strong attention to detail and organization • Access to your own licensed version of Chief Architect software Nice to Have • Experience sourcing furniture, lighting, and finishes • Procurement or purchasing experience • Experience working with builders, architects, and cabinetmakers About House of Maevie House of Maevie is a residential design studio focused on creating homes that are both beautiful and deeply functional for everyday life.
