TV News Writer - TVLine
Steady assignments. Reliable pay. TVLine is seeking experienced freelance news writers to join our team. We want true TV obsessives who thrive in a fast-moving news cycle and can apply their vast TV knowledge to a variety of story formats. Articles will focus on both evergreen material regarding contemporary and classic TV shows, as well as episodic deep dives on what’s currently airing. The most important thing is a passion for television as an artform – at TVLine we love TV, and we want to highlight what makes us love it.
Ideal candidates bring at least three years of professional writing experience and deep knowledge of the current TV landscape across broadcast, cable, and every streamer that matters. We're after versatile, self-motivated writers who can deliver sharp, smart, well-researched coverage that prioritizes factual accuracy, solid sourcing, and unique insights made using those sources. In the future there may be opportunities for more time-sensitive coverage, as well as spoiler-friendly previews, trailer breakdowns, and recaps/reviews.
We are particularly interested in writers with a strong background knowledge in Star Trek, The Big Bang Theory, Taylor Sheridan programs, procedurals, Blue Bloods, The Office, The Pitt, and classic sitcoms of the 1960s and 1970s.
