Job Summary
The Customer Service Associate plays a vital role in supporting the store management team to facilitate and perform a variety of tasks, including customer service, food and beverage preparation, cash register duties, general housekeeping, and other related functions. Key Responsibilities
- Greet and provide an enjoyable shopping experience for all customers, responding to customer requests and complaints in a timely and courteous manner, utilizing the GREAT customer service and customer recovery model to ensure customer engagement.
- Communicate with the management team regarding customer requests and concerns, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly and professionally.
- Operate the cash register, scan items, bag merchandise, and properly handle different methods of payment, maintaining proper cash levels in the register drawer and change machines.
- Comply with federal and state laws by requesting personal identification from customers who are purchasing restricted products, such as tobacco and/or alcohol.
- Stock and refill product within the interior and exterior core register area, cold express cases, bakery, and grocery aisles, ensuring that all products are faced and stocked to company standards.
- Perform customer fuel transactions and monitor activities at the fuel court, stopping fuel pumps if necessary, and ensuring that all fuel transactions are handled safely and efficiently.
- Prepare all made-to-order food and/or beverages according to recipe or customer specifications, ensuring that all food and beverages are prepared to company standards and presented in an appealing manner.
- Stock food and beverage areas with products and supplies, ensuring that all areas are stocked and faced to company standards, and that coffee thermals are filled and working properly.
- Ensure the proper execution of assigned foodservice and beverage programs and procedures, following all company guidelines and protocols.
- Complete cleanliness tasks to ensure all food and beverage service areas are free of any residue, debris, and spills, maintaining a clean and safe environment for customers and associates.
- Follow proper coding procedures, checking expiration codes, facing and inspecting all items, pulling expired items, documenting, and discarding, ensuring that all products are handled and stored safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to the execution of established safety, security, quality, and store operations policies, procedures, and practices, as outlined in blithequark's policy manual, training materials, and other publications.
- Complete all store housekeeping functions, including cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, emptying trash, and ensuring that all areas of the store are clean and well-maintained.
- Ensure safe working conditions by maintaining a clean, organized work area, in accordance with company standards, and reporting any safety hazards or concerns to management.
- Complete other tasks as assigned by store management, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.

- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to ensure that all responsibilities are completed efficiently and safely.
- Must be able to perform the following physical behaviors repetitively throughout a shift: standing, walking, handling, reaching horizontally, and grasping firmly.
- Must be able to perform the following physical behaviors frequently throughout a shift: reaching above the shoulder, reaching below the waist, pushing buttons, bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, and pushing.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 lbs, demonstrating the ability to safely handle and move products and equipment.
- Work safely with equipment that can create and hold very high temperatures, using appropriate personal protective equipment and following all company guidelines and protocols.
- Must be at least 16 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Must wear slip-resistant shoes at all times, demonstrating a commitment to safety and a willingness to follow all company guidelines and protocols.
- Must be able to tolerate exposure to cleaning products, demonstrating the ability to safely handle and use cleaning products and equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior food service and/or customer service experience, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and building strong relationships with customers.
- Pursuit of or high school diploma or equivalent, with a strong academic record and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
- Ability to learn and demonstrate all blithequark systems and procedures, including point-of-sale systems, inventory management systems, and customer relationship management systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to ensure that all responsibilities are completed efficiently and safely.
