About the Role
As a Group Benefits Account Advisor, you’ll be a key member of our Client Experience team, responsible for managing and supporting employer clients throughout their benefits lifecycle.
You’ll serve as a trusted key advisor, handling servicing requests, managing renewal strategy and Open Enrollment, supporting claims navigation, and proactively delivering value-driven solutions. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
This position is open to candidates located anywhere in the continental U.S. and requires an active Life & Health insurance license.
What You’ll Do
• Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned group benefits clients
• Manage annual renewals, Open Enrollment planning and execution
• Respond to urgent client requests within 1–2 hours and general inquiries within the same business day
• Handle day-to-day servicing requests via phone, email, and support channels
• Prepare employer and employee-facing materials and presentations
• Assist employees with claims navigation and benefit questions
• Conduct proactive compliance audits and ACA-related support
• Perform quarterly claims reviews using Sounder Benefits’ technology tools
• Document servicing activity, processes, and procedures in CRM systems
• Support client onboarding and elements of the sales cycle
• Provide proactive value-driven solutions to client base
• Collaborate with internal teams and support business development initiatives as needed
What We’re Looking For
Experience & Knowledge
• 4-7+ years of group employee benefits experience
Strong working knowledge of:
• Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, Voluntary Benefits
• ACA compliance
• Small and large group markets
• Fully insured, level-funded, and self-insured plans
• PEO and direct market environments
Skills & Attributes
• Confident phone and email communication skills
• Comfortable with outbound calls and relationship-building
• Strong attention to detail and documentation practices
• Highly organized, proactive, and self-motivated
• Analytical thinker with a customer-first mindset
• Ability to independently research and resolve complex issues
• Experience using CRM systems
• Proficient with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Slides, Calendar)
• Comfortable working on PC or Mac
Qualifications
• Active Life, Health & Accident Insurance License (required within first 90 days
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (required)
• Full-time availability
• Authorization to work in the United States
