Chief Marketing Officer
About the Role
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) plays a pivotal role in shaping how the world experiences The Sentinel by Yuvoice. As a member of the executive leadership team, you’ll help guide our long‑term vision, inspire a growing team, and elevate the stories and voices at the heart of our mission.
This role is less about day‑to‑day execution and more about setting direction, empowering others, and building a marketing function that reflects our values and amplifies our impact. A key focus will be recruiting and nurturing a talented volunteer team, creating a space where creativity thrives and every contributor feels seen, supported, and inspired.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Oversight
• * Shape the overarching vision for The Sentinel by Yuvoice’s marketing strategy, ensuring it aligns with our mission and long‑term goals.
• Provide high‑level guidance and thoughtful oversight to the marketing team.
• Set priorities, clarify expectations, and help the team stay focused on meaningful outcomes.
• Partner with fellow executives to ensure marketing efforts strengthen and elevate our collective impact.
Team Recruitment & Development
• * Lead the effort to build a dynamic, diverse, and mission‑aligned marketing team.
• Mentor and support volunteers, helping them grow in confidence, skill, and purpose.
• Foster a culture where creativity is encouraged, collaboration is natural, and every voice matters.
Team Supervision
• * Provide guidance and support to functional leads across:
• Content Creation (LinkedIn, BlueSky, TikTok, newsletters, graphic design)
• Brand & Communications (PR, SEO, Ad Grants)
• Media & Events (podcasts, events)
• Analytics & Insights (data analysis, reporting)
• Ensure each function is progressing with clarity and aligned with The Sentinel by Yuvoice’s mission and goals.
Brand, PR, and Market Presence
• * Champion a consistent, authentic brand identity across all channels.
• Guide PR, digital content, and event strategies that expand The Sentinel by Yuvoice’s visibility and deepen our connection with communities.
• Provide strategic direction for campaigns and initiatives, empowering the team to execute with creativity and confidence.
Data and Insights
• * Oversee the use of data to measure, learn, and continuously improve.
• Review insights and offer thoughtful recommendations that help the team grow and refine its approach.
Requirements
Qualifications
• * Leadership experience in marketing at the executive or senior director level.
• Proven ability to recruit, build, and guide creative and technical teams.
• Strong understanding of digital content, PR, SEO, events, and analytics.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and decision‑making skills.
