Business Development Representative
Leyton is a global innovation funding consultancy, and they are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Business Development Representative to join their high-performing sales team. This role offers an exciting entry-level opportunity for individuals looking to launch and grow their career in business development, focusing on lead generation and client engagement.
Responsibilities
- Conduct outbound cold calls (~80%), emails, and LinkedIn outreach to generate qualified leads
- Research and identify potential clients using Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and industry directories
- Develop and manage a strong pipeline of prospects across multiple industries
- Identify decision-makers, understand business needs, and qualify opportunities for Consultants or BDMs
- Communicate Leyton’s service offerings and schedule discovery meetings
- Maintain a positive and professional client experience at all times
- Accurately document all interactions in Salesforce, tracking leads, activities, and outcomes
- Participate in regular sales strategy meetings and report progress to the Sales Manager
- Collaborate with Consultants, BDMs, and cross-functional teams to optimize outreach strategies
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly KPIs and revenue targets
- Represent Leyton at industry events, networking sessions, and virtual meetings when required
- Contribute ideas to enhance lead generation and sales processes
Skills
- Strong business acumen with interest in innovation funding or financial products
- Confident, persuasive communicator with excellent phone and email etiquette
- Autonomous, results-driven, able to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Salesforce or other CRM experience is a plus
- 1–2 years of inside sales, business development, or client-facing experience is an asset but not mandatory
- Prior experience in prospecting, cold calling, or consulting/finance is advantageous
- Professional Sales certification from a Business School, such as Arizona State University, is a relevant advantage for this role
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory
