This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge enterprise blockchain and fintech solutions for a prominent UAE-based client, working remotely from your base in Eastern Europe, MENA, or India. As a Senior Blockchain Security Engineer, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding innovative blockchain applications, ensuring their integrity, resilience, and trustworthiness in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. • In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive security assessments of blockchain protocols, smart contracts, and decentralized applications (dApps). Your expertise will be crucial in identifying vulnerabilities, developing robust mitigation strategies, and implementing best practices to fortify our client's blockchain infrastructure against potential threats. You will delve deep into the architecture of various blockchain platforms, analyzing their security posture and recommending enhancements to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. • A significant part of your responsibility will involve performing in-depth code reviews of smart contracts written in languages such as Solidity, Vyper, or Rust. You will meticulously scrutinize the code for common vulnerabilities like reentrancy attacks, integer overflows, unchecked external calls, and gas limit issues. Your findings will be documented in detailed reports, providing clear explanations of identified risks and actionable recommendations for remediation. You will collaborate closely with development teams to guide them through the secure coding practices and help them implement the necessary fixes. • Beyond smart contract security, you will also focus on the security of the underlying blockchain infrastructure. This includes evaluating the security of consensus mechanisms, network protocols, and node configurations. You will assess potential attack vectors such as 51% attacks, Sybil attacks, and denial-of-service (DoS) attacks, and design countermeasures to prevent them. Your work will extend to understanding and securing cryptographic primitives used within the blockchain ecosystem, ensuring their correct implementation and resistance to cryptographic attacks. • You will play a key role in developing and executing security testing methodologies, including penetration testing, fuzzing, and static/dynamic analysis. This involves leveraging a variety of security tools and frameworks to simulate real-world attack scenarios and uncover hidden weaknesses. Your ability to think like an attacker will be paramount in anticipating potential exploits and proactively addressing them before they can be leveraged by malicious actors. • Furthermore, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures specific to blockchain environments. This includes defining secure development lifecycles, incident response plans, and disaster recovery strategies tailored for distributed ledger technologies. You will stay abreast of the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and emerging trends in the blockchain space, continuously updating your knowledge and sharing it with the team. • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work alongside architects, developers, and project managers to embed security considerations into every stage of the development process, from initial design to deployment and ongoing maintenance. Your insights will help shape the security roadmap for our client's blockchain initiatives, ensuring that security is not an afterthought but an integral component of their technological strategy. • The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of distributed systems, cryptography, and network security principles. Experience with various blockchain platforms (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, Solana) and their associated security challenges is highly desirable.
