This is a talent acquisition role in publishing, focused on discovering and onboarding authors.
Written.app is a platform where independent writers sell directly to readers, keep 90% of their revenue, and earn royalties on resales.
Think Patreon or Gumroad — but built specifically for books. Authors bring their audience.
We give them a better way to monetize, stay independent, and truly own their work.
We’re now looking for an Literary Scout — someone with a sharp editorial eye and a natural instinct for discovering strong voices with loyal communities.
Your mission
To discover and bring in standout indie writers who already have an engaged audience and are ready to grow their income on Written.
This role is outreach-heavy and requires a high level of independence in finding, approaching, and starting conversations with authors.
These creators can come from Wattpad, KDP, Inkitt, Substack, AO3, Patreon, Gumroad, or other niche platforms where highly loyal reader communities live.
You won’t just “source” people.
You’ll curate talent.
What you’ll do
• Scout writers with strong, engaged audiences
• Proactively identify and reach out to authors through outbound outreach
• Evaluate writing quality, voice, and long‑term potential
• Build genuine, human conversations with authors
• Guide them from first contact to publication on Written
• Help shape a strong, distinctive creator lineup
• Bring in 20+ new publications per month(full books, serial chapters, short works — Written supports flexible formats)
• Maintain 10–20 active author conversations
Who we’re looking for
• Experience with authors, content, or creator communities
• Familiarity with platforms like Wattpad, KDP, Inkitt, Radish, Substack, AO3
• Strong editorial judgment and taste
• Confident, natural communication style
• Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely
• Fluent written English
